TURKISH GCSEs and A Levels

Assessing students’ levels and providing a predicted grade for Turkish GCSEs and A Levels

What is a predicted grade?

Predicted grades for GCSEs (General Certificate of Secondary Education) and A-levels are estimates of the grades a student is expected to achieve in their final exams. These grades are typically provided by the school teachers based on the student’s performance throughout their course of study, including coursework, classwork, mock exams, and teacher assessments.

For A-levels, predicted grades play a significant role in university admissions. Universities may offer conditional offers to students based on their predicted grades, meaning the student must achieve certain grades in their A-level exams to secure their place at the university.

However, it is challenging to determine the Turkish GCSE student’s level if the language is not taught in the school.

I would be happy to offer my services for individual students or schools.

How do I give the predicted grade?

I conduct two or three hours of remote lesson with the student to have an in-depth idea about their Turkish skills. We will do all four areas of the language which are reading, listening, writing, and speaking as well as translating -no speaking assessment in the A Levels as it’s not required.

During these preliminary sessions I ensure that the candidate is acquainted with the examination format and provide them with key strategies to optimize their performance. and then send a mock exam. The mock exam will consist of reading, writing, and translating.

Subsequently, I administer a mock examination encompassing reading, writing, and translation components. While the student undertakes this examination in their own setting, I meticulously evaluate their proficiency across all areas during our instructional sessions, thereby establishing a comprehensive understanding of their capabilities. Consequently, the predicted grade is based not only on the mock examination but also on the student’s demonstrated performance throughout our sessions. My methodology for assigning predicted grades is characterized by unwavering fairness and transparency.

Following this assessment, I meticulously detail my predicted grade and convey it to the school administration via email.
